About Me
I usually think in pictures before I think in words. I’m an Argentinian born photographer and filmmaker based in Sydney, and I’m pretty hybrid in the way I work. I move between photography and directing, commercial work and personal projects, documentary and constructed storytelling. Sometimes I photograph. Sometimes I direct. Quite often I do both. People are at the centre of pretty much everything I make. I’m drawn to colour, characters and communities, and creating work that feel lived-in and spontaneous, even when every part of the frame has been carefully considered. I like finding humour in ordinary life, not by making it bigger, but by noticing it properly. Analogue photography and traditional colour darkroom printing are a huge part of my practice too. There’s something about the slowness and imperfection of film that has shaped the way I see, even when I’m working digitally or directing. Over the past decade I’ve worked across Australia, New Zealand and internationally, directing and photographing campaigns for Adidas, BONDS, Mercedes-Benz, New Balance, Bershka, Modibodi, Vogue, Bumble and others, while continuing to make personal work about identity, family, belonging, subcultures and the wonderfully odd ways people move through the world.
